Aged debt reduction in under three months
Your aged debt recovery toolkit
When chasing stops working
Give every overdue debt a clear next step
You’ve sent reminders. You’ve asked for payment dates. Some customers respond; others ignore you or promise to pay next week. Deciding what to do next becomes harder when each account has a different history.
Collect Wise reviews the agreed debts and previous chasing, then helps you decide what to pursue, what to query and when to escalate. Your team gets the steps and wording to act consistently.
Payment promises keep slipping
Follow up agreed dates and respond promptly when a commitment is missed.
Reminders get ignored
Give your team a defined next step when routine chasing produces no response.
Disputes hold up payment
Identify what needs answering, who owns the response and what evidence is missing.
Chasing depends on the person
Set a consistent approach so overdue accounts keep moving when responsibilities change.
Payment plans drift
Record amounts and dates, monitor instalments and set out what happens after a missed payment.
Escalation feels uncertain
Know when to use firmer communication and when an account needs specialist recovery or legal input.
A process for this debt and the next one
Whether you’re dealing with one unpaid account or a growing backlog, your team needs to know what action to take and what happens if it doesn’t work.
Your package brings the review, action plan, collection procedure, templates and training together. We help you establish who follows up, which deadlines matter, how payment promises are recorded and what triggers escalation.
Experience behind the package
Built on £25m+ of debt recovery experience
Paula Bolton, the founder, and her team have recovered more than £25m for clients and supported over 500 businesses with aged debt recovery.
That experience informs the package: how to follow up a broken promise, ask the right questions about a dispute, negotiate a payment commitment and recognise when routine chasing has reached its limit.
You get practical collection knowledge applied to your debts and the people responsible for pursuing them.
What changes for your team
Know what to do when payment doesn’t arrive
The customer says they’ll pay on Friday. Friday passes. Your team knows who follows up, which wording to use, what to record and what happens if the next deadline is missed.
That’s the level of practical detail this package is designed to establish. Decisions about disputes, instalments and escalation sit within a written process your team can follow.
Your business keeps control of the conversation, with clear responsibilities and specialist support while the process is put into practice.
Late payments cost the UK economy £11 billion a year and close 38 UK businesses every day (Department for Business and Trade, May 2026).
Who this is for
Want to recover overdue invoices in-house?
This package is designed for businesses that want their own team to manage collections and need a more effective approach once invoices become overdue.
- You have one difficult debt or several overdue customer accounts.
- Customers ignore reminders or repeatedly miss payment promises.
- Your team is unsure how firmly to chase or when to escalate.
- Collection procedures are informal, incomplete or applied inconsistently.
- You want suitable templates and training on how to use them.
- You want to retain responsibility for customer contact and get expert support with the process.
The person doing the chasing might be you, a bookkeeper, an accounts administrator or a finance team member. They need the capacity and authority to carry out the agreed actions.
For a review of the full journey from order to cash, including customer setup, payment terms and invoicing, see our Credit Control Review & Setup.

Previous client results
Collection experience backed by client results
Range Servant’s aged debt fell by approximately 47% between October and December 2023 and was cleared by January 2024. The work combined collection activity with wider improvements to credit control and account processes.
CANDDi’s published case study records a 58.51% reduction in aged debt and no outstanding debt beyond 60 days following a wider consultancy programme.
These projects demonstrate Collect Wise’s experience in improving collections. They involved broader services; the new Aged Debt Action Plan & Templates package draws on that experience.

Before you buy
Questions about aged debt recovery support
Can you help if we only have one unpaid debt?
Yes. One unpaid account can be the starting point. We review the debt within the agreed scope and give you a collection process, templates and practical training that can also be used when future invoices become overdue.
Will you contact our customers?
Your team carries out the chasing and retains control of customer contact. The package includes the review, collection procedure, action plan, templates, training and agreed support to help you do that effectively. Any separate collection service would need its own agreement.
What makes this different from downloading debt recovery templates?
Collect Wise reviews your aged debtor position, the age and history of outstanding accounts, previous chasing, payment promises, disputes and escalation status. We then prioritise the accounts and provide a practical 30-day action plan.
What happens if a customer disputes an invoice or still won’t pay?
The review considers the dispute or chasing history and identifies missing information and appropriate next steps. Your team gets a process for following up, recording responses and escalating unresolved accounts. Some cases need a solicitor or external recovery specialist. Payment depends on the circumstances of the debt and cannot be guaranteed.
Is this a full credit control review?
This package starts when an invoice becomes overdue and covers the collection process from that point. Our Credit Control Review & Setup examines the wider order-to-cash journey, including customer setup, payment terms, invoicing and ongoing credit control.
What does the fixed fee cover?
Your fee covers the agreed debt review, action plan, collection policy and procedure, editable templates, tracker, training and implementation support. The price, reviewed-account limit, training allowance, support arrangements and delivery times are confirmed before purchase.
A pre-purchase meeting explains the package and checks suitability; account-specific recommendations begin after purchase.
